Identity Protection

Do You Have An Evil Twin...or Triplet or Quadruplet or Sextuplet or Octuplet or...

You May And Not Even Know It. Just Waiting To Assume Your Identity And All You've Worked So Hard To Build!

The Following Facts About Identity Theft:

Governmental Fact:

Every single human being is a target for identity theft and there's nothing they can do to stop it! Oh, sure, they have measures set up to slow it down and prosecute those who commit this type of hi-tech crime, but the information shows that they are powerless to stop it from happening.

Please... for your own sake, read everything on this page before you decide to disregard the information. It will shock you. There's one so crazy I bolded it so you can't miss it.

Fact Two:

The freedom of information (FIOA) act passed by our federal government is a potential gateway to identity theft...and they know it!

It Happened To Me; It Can Happen To You! Odds Are It Will!

Forgery is not just some under-aged school kid trying to get into a club with a fake ID. It's BIG business.

Definition of forgery: unauthorized using of another's signature or any other information to either pose as that person or lead others into believing you were given permission to use that person's likeness to get things or use their resources to get things

In 2012, someone's identity was stolen every 3 seconds! All to the tune of 12 billion dollars.

Those who fell prey to identity theft didn't think they were at risk until they were.

What's even more shocking is you may not be at fault at all! Those whom you trusted to keep secure the information you gave to them for medical services or just doing our civic duty to obey governmental laws regularly have attempts and breaches to their files leaving you wide open to idnetity theft and forgery.

Case in point: not long ago, the state of South Carolina IRS agency records were breached and they had to spend millions to alert all the innocent citizens who were put at risk for stolen identities...through no fault of their own. The solution given by the state; sign up for fraud protection and were given a one year subscription to an identity monitoring service.

#2 Not long ago, the veterans affairs office records were breached, leaving millions of our honored service people vulnerable to fraudulent activity. Their solution: check your credit for fraudulent activity for the next 6 to 12 months.

#3 Who can forget the foul up of an employee who took millions of people's sensitive information home on a laptop that was eventually stolen. The solution: monitor your credit.

It could be years before the thieves strike and decide to use your personal information. It could very well be a case of information laundering; similar to money laundering where time and multiple avenues are used to render the information untraceable. Your personal information may be in the hands of someone half way around the world just waiting until they think no one's watching.

Everyday, ordinary, unsuspecting people are taken hostage through stolen identity. Identity theft is a billion dollar business. Most times the victim doesn't feel the effects until the damage is done. Creditors don't care who make the payments just as long as they get their money. If you have to file for bankruptcy to get them off your back, they don't care. They'll do what ever it takes to not get taken.

Don't think you're at risk and it's the other person's problem? See if you find your self a participator in any off the following things:

Send an email
Own a cell phone
Eat out
Fuel your vehicle with check or card
Pay your bills online or use check or card
Bank online
Go to the doctor
Buy clothing and shoes
Buy groceries
Return/exchange merchandise
Talk on a land line phone
Apply for a job
File your taxes
Take out a loan
Shop online
Participate in social media
Apply for insurance
Be born
Have a social security number

Any one of these things put you at high risk for your identity being stolen. Did you find yourself a partaker of any of them?

Consumer protection is something you take ownership of. Don't assume someone else is looking out for your best interest...they're not.

What Is Identity Theft:

Identity theft is when someone takes your personal information and sign up for things under the guise of being you. They can use your name, address, social security number and what ever else information to directly or indirectly get as much information as they can in order to breach your financial accounts. You could be drained in seconds.

What does someone who commits identity theft look like? Think you could spot one before they struck? Which animation do you think is capable of being the criminal?

The fact is they all could be the one who's stealing your identity and you may not know it until you try to buy a home or vehicle. Or maybe try to apply for financial for your kid and find out that your private information is in someone else hands. Here's another kicker. You may not even get negative feedback from it. Some people's credit is just too bad to get things in their own name, so dishonest sales people use your information to get them approved for loans and just tell the person to be sure they make their payments so they wont get caught!!! can you believe that?! I personally know someone who's in jail right now for doing that at a car dealership. A dealership that I bought my car from, no less!!! Thankfully, I wasn't a victim, but I could've easily become one had I not protected myself.

Most times the information criminals don't use your information themselves. They pass it on to others who are more skilled at hiding and selling you sensitive personal data to the highest bidder. There are so many paths to this high profit scheme that it takes years sometime to bring the perpetrators to justice. Many times they never get caught do to connections off shore.

Here's a fact, Victims of identity fraud go through the same psychological motions of someone who's been kidnapped. That is in fact what has happened to you. Your identity has been taken and held for ransom. The problem is the crook doesn't care who pays the ransom. They pass it on to whoever wants it.

Can you imagine your life being put in limbo over something you have no control over? Well, ,there is something you can do to help prevent that from happening. You can invest in the well being of you and your families financial and emotional health by putting a plan in place that monitors your credit for suspicious activity and puts up a fraud alert to help keep your money and your sensitive and private information out of the hands of criminals.

By taking action and doing steps to guard your identification is just cheap insurance that you just can't be without in times such as these.

The carefree days of trusting someone to protect you are long gone. We live in a global society now and it makes finding those who do you wrong even more difficult.
